Day 1: Arrival in Bratislava

Arrival either at Vienna airport or Bratislava airport. The Vienna airport is located just 45 min drive by bus from Bratislava‘s city center. Meeting with your English speaking guide and transfer to Bratislava. Panorama city tour of Bratislava – Blue Church, Presidential Palace, Palisady district, Slavin Monument with outstanding view on Bratislava old town, Bratislava castle. Check in at the hotel. Afterwards continue by walking part of the city tour – the St. Martin’s Cathedral, Opera House, Reduta Building, Main Square with Old Town Hall, Primate’s Palace, St. Michael’s Gate, Palace of Hungarian Parliament, Mozart House, Academia Istropolitana and many more. Dinner in traditional restaurant in Bratislava old town. Overnight in Bratislava. 

Day 2: Small Carpathian Wine Route & Little Rome of Slovakia

Buffet breakfast at the hotel, and departure to Small Carpathian Wine Route. It is the most famous Slovakian wine region, where they still produce the favorite wine of empress Maria Theresa. The legend says, every time Maria Theresa drunk Racianska Frankovka, she became pregnant.  She had in total 16 kids 🙂 

The first stop in small wine town Svaty Jur, where we will visit the workshop of traditional ceramica of this region – Majolika. Continie to city of Trnava, which is also well known as “Little Rome of Slovakia”, thanks to great amount of the cathedrals, basilicas, churches and monasteries, which are located in city. When Bratislava was a capital of Hungarian Kingdom, Trnava was a seat or archbishop. Lunch in Trnava/ Continue to Red Stone Castle, which have the biggest cellars in Central Europe. Entrance to this romantic castle. Continue thru the wine towns Modra and Pezinok, the capital city of Slovakian wine production. Dinner at stylish wine cellar with wine tasting. Evening return to Bratislava. Overnight in Bratislava. 

 

Day 3: Nitra – Banska Stiavnica – Low Tatras

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Nitra, the oldest Slovakian city, where according to the legends used to work and live the saints Cyril & Method, the patrons of Slovakia, who brought the Christianity to Great Moravian Empire and invented the  first Slavic alphabet Hlaholika, the predecessor of modern alphabet now used in Serbia, Bulgaria or Russia. Visit of beautiful old town with cathedral of St. Emeram. 

Continue to Hronsky Bedanikt Abbey, the beautiful monastery located in the mountains, entrance to monastery. Continue to Banska Stiavnica (UNESCO), the ancient mining town. Walking tour of historical city center and entrance to New Castle. Continue to the center of Slovakia – Banska Bystrica,  during II. World War the center of Slovak National Uprising. Walking tour of the city and continue to Low Tatras. Overnight in Low Tatras. 

Day 4: High Tatras

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Demanovska Cave of Liberty. Entrance to cave. Continue to the biggest mountains of Slovakia – High Tatras.  Stroll along the glacial lake Strbske Pleso, visit the mountain villages Stary Smokovec & Tatranska Lomnica. In Tatranska Lomnica take a cable car to Skalnate Pleso, admiring the beautiful view from Skalnate Pleso. Retunr to Low Tatras, overnight. 

Day 5: The Spiss Region

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards region Spiss, where is located many UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In Spiss region used to live the German settlers, who invited here the king Belo IV, afterwards the war with Tatars. Entrance to the biggest castle of Central Europe – Spiss Castle & Slovakian Vatican Spisska Kapitula with cathedral of St. Martin. Both listed on UNESCO World Heritage List.  Continue to medieval  town Levoca and stroll along the beautiful city center with entrance to Basilica of St. Jacob with unique wooden altar of Master Paul from Levoca (UNESCO).

Continue to another medieval town Kezmarok, where it is possible enter to city castle, or protestant wooden church built without using any nail (UNESCO).  Continue to city of Poprad and walking tour of historical part of the city Spisska Sobota. Traditional dinner in wooden restaurant Koliba. Retunrn to Low Tatras, overnight. 

Day 6: The Orava Region

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Departure to one of the most beautiful and authentic regions of Slovakia – Orava. Entrance to the museum of Orava village in Podbiel.  Continue to Orava Castle also well known as Dracula castle, because there was filmed the very first film about Dracula in 1922 – The Dracula from Nossferatu. Afterwards visit of wooden village Vlkolinec (UNESCO), the village is still inhabited. On return way to Low Tatras, possible to stop at Aqupark Tatralandia. Overnight in Low Tatras. 

Day 7: Vratna Valley – Zilina – Bratislava 

Buffet breakfast at the hotel and check out. Departure towards Zilina. Possible visit the small cheese handcraft Koliba Syrex and take part in cheese workshop of production of traditional Slovakian cheese. Continue to Vratna Valley, one of the most beautiful valleys of Slovakia, located in Small Fatra National Park. Take a cable car to Snilovske Peak (1524 m). Continue to Zilina and walking tour thru beautiful city center. Continue to Trencin, walkign tour of city center, possible entrance to monumental Trencin Castle. Arrival in Bratislava, dinner and overnight in Slovakian capital. 

Day 8: Departure from Bratislava 

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Free time in Bratislava, on route to Vienna airport possible to stop in a small chocolate factory in Kitssee. Arrival at Vienna airpoirt and end of the service.
