Itinerary
Arrival in Bratislava
Arrival at Bratislava/ Vienna airport. Transfer to hotel. Check in and overnight in Bratislava.
Bratislava – Trnava (58 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the bike shop in Bratislava where you will take your bike & helmet. Start of the cycling tour of Slovakia. The tour will go thru Small Carpathian Wine Route, the most important Slovakian wine region. We will cycle thru Bratislava district Raca, continue to beautiful small wine town Svaty Jur, “capital city” of Slovakian wine production Pezinok, another wine town Modra, famous in addition to wine thanks to traditional painted pottery called Majolika. The last stop will be in Trnava, called also “Little Rome of Slovakia”, one of the oldest Slovakian cities full of cathedrals, basilica and churches. Overnight in Trnava.
Trnava – Piestany (47 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. This day will take us to Slovakian countryside, we will pass just thru small villages and towns such as Malzenice, Kostolany, Vesele and Trebatice, where you can observe traditional life of Slovakian village. End of the tour in famous Slovakian SPA Town Piestany. Piestany is famous thanks to “healing” mineral water and unique healing mud. Very beautiful part of Piestany is a “SPA Island” where are located SPA sanatoria’s, hotels and endless park with golf course. Piestany is also known in Slovakia as a capital city of “Slovakian cycling”. Overnight in Piestany.
Piestany – Trencin (49 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. This day will be dedicated to the castles of Slovakia. Slovakia is famous as a country of the castles, here it is located more than 350 castles and remains of the castles, most of them built in 13th century, after the war with Tartas & Mongols. First castle what we will admire will be majestic Beckov Castle located on a rock cliff above the small village Beckov. The second castle of our cycle tour will be Trencin Castle located above the city of Trencin. From the castle it is a beautiful view on a historical city center of Trencin and Vah river, the longest Slovakian river. On Trencin castle cliff it is located also the oldest written notice in Slovakia, which declares presence of Roman Army of Emperor Marcus Aurelius in Trencin. Overnight in Trencin.
Bytca – Zilina (22 km)
Breakfast at the hotel. We will take a train from Trencin to Bytca. The journey takes about 1 hour by local train. Your price includes the train ticket with bicycle transportation. Drop off in Bytca, which is called also “Venezia of Slovakia” as one of branch of river Vah flows thru this small beautiful city, famous also thanks to splendid “Wedding” Palace of Bytca, which is also headquarters of Slovakian archive. Continue to Zilina, along river Vah to center of North – West Slovakia, Zilina which is famous as the important transportation knot. Zilina boasts with beautiful completely rounded square of Holly Mary & Budatin Castle with gorgeous castle garden. Overnight in Zilina
Zilina – Vratna Valley – Zilina (54 km)
Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Terchova/ Vratna Valley one of the most beautiful valleys of Slovakia. We will follow the new cycle path built just in 2022 from Zilina to Terchova, along the Vah river and Varinka river. Terchova is not only famous thanks to beautiful nature, but also thanks to a folk music which is listed on UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE LIST. Possible to take a funicular to Snilovske Peak (1524 m) in Small Fatra National Park. Return to Zilina and drop off the bicycle at local bike shop and transfer back to the hotel. Overnight in Zilina.
Zilina - Bratislava - Vienna airport
Breakfast at the hotel. Take a train from Zilina to Bratislava, journey takes about 2 hours. Transfer from Bratislava train station to Vienna/ Bratislava airport. End of the services.
