About Andrej
Born in 1991 in Žilina, northern Slovakia, Andrej Stanik is a passionate promoter of Slovakia, Sales & Marketing Manager at E-TRAVEL.SK, licensed tour guide, driver-guide, speaker, travel consultant and event coordinator.
Andrej was born and raised in the travel and tourism industry as the son of Igor Stanik, founder of E-TRAVEL.SK. From an early age, he was surrounded by international tourism, incoming travel and the day-to-day work of a local DMC.
In 2014, Andrej obtained his Master’s degree in Law from Paneuropean University in Bratislava. During his university studies, he also completed further studies at MGIMO University in Moscow, Russia. In 2022, he obtained a doctoral degree in International Law.
Outside tourism, Andrej is a passionate sportsman. He plays ice hockey, football and tennis, while winter is dedicated to ski touring, cross-country skiing and downhill skiing. His connection with sport and the outdoors also gives him particular experience working with active and incentive groups.
Licensed Tour Guide, Sales Manager & Travel Specialist
While studying at university, Andrej obtained his official Bratislava city tour guide licence and began working as a tour guide for regular and private tours operated by Bratislava City Tours.
After completing his university studies, he joined E-TRAVEL.SK as an event coordinator and later became involved in sales and marketing. His work brought him into contact with tour operators, travel agencies, corporate groups and individual travellers from around the world.
Over the years, his professional focus has expanded from Bratislava to the whole of Slovakia — from Devín Castle in the west to Dukla in the east. His particular interest in Slovak history, Central European politics and international affairs allows him to put Slovakia’s destinations, people and historical events into a broader European context.
Andrej also works as a driver-guide, combining guiding with private transportation for FITs and small groups.
History, Slovakia & Active Travel
Andrej specialises in the history of the Kingdom of Hungary and the history of Slovakia in the 20th century. He particularly enjoys connecting historical events with the places where they happened, from medieval towns and castles to the political and social changes of modern Slovakia.
His sporting background and passion for the mountains also make him a natural choice for active and incentive groups, including programmes involving hiking, skiing and other outdoor activities.
Genealogy & Slovak Roots
Genealogy is another of Andrej’s long-standing interests. He assists clients from the United States, Canada and Latin America with Slovak ancestry in researching their family roots and reconnecting with places and people connected to their family history.
Through E-TRAVEL.SK, genealogy services can include family history research, locating ancestral places and, where possible, identifying living relatives. The aim is not only to research the past, but to help families reconnect with their Slovak heritage.

Andrej works in English, Spanish, Russian and German and regularly works with international clients, groups and travel professionals visiting Slovakia and Central Europe.
