How it works
Twenty-one private days out of one city
Private means your clients and nobody else: their own licensed guide, their own car or van, and a start time they choose. There is no minimum party size — a tour runs for one traveller as readily as for ten — and nothing on this page is a fixed departure waiting for other people to fill it. Everything starts and ends in Bratislava, which sits an hour from Vienna and two and a half from Budapest, so a single base covers three capitals. The wider country is on our Slovakia destination pages.
Each tour includes a licensed guide and, where the day needs one, an air-conditioned car or van with an English-speaking driver. Entrance fees are not included unless they are named in the tour, so you can set the day at the level your clients expect rather than buying a fixed package. A limousine can be arranged on request, and our office answers by phone and email around the clock while your clients are on the ground. For coach groups rather than private parties, the same country is covered by our group excursion programme.
Every one of these also runs for individual travellers under our own retail brand, Bratislava City Tours — the private walking tour, the walk with beer tasting and the Small Carpathian wine discovery among them. The tours are the same; what changes is that the rates below are net for the trade.
Rates are net, non-commissionable and not published here. Tell us the date, the number of travellers and the guide language, and we come back with a quotation, normally within one business day. Anything on this page can be shortened, reordered or joined to another one, and we re-quote it.

Bratislava on foot
An hour to half a day, entirely in the old town
Six ways to walk Bratislava with a private guide, from a one-hour express circuit to three hours built around food or a bicycle. Pick-up is from a centrally located hotel; otherwise your clients meet the guide at a named point in the centre.
One-Hour Express Tour
The shortest way to see the point of Bratislava: the Main Square and the Old Town Hall, the Primate’s Palace, St Michael’s Gate and the lanes between them, with a licensed guide who answers questions as you walk.

2 hours · On foot · Pick-up from a central hotel

Walking Tour with Beer Tasting
The same walk through the old town, finishing in a Bratislava beer house with three specialty beers and a pretzel — Slovak brewing is older and better than most of your clients will expect.

Walking Tour with Wine Tasting
The old town on foot, ending in a cellar in the centre with a professional sommelier and three local wines. Five samples can be added. Runs Tuesday to Saturday.

Culinary Walking Tour
Bratislava through what it eats, at the crossroads of Hungary, Austria and Czechia: langoš, then bryndzové halušky — potato dumplings with sheep’s cheese and bacon — then Small Carpathian wine and a Bratislava poppy-seed roll.
3 hours · On foot · Three tasting stops · Daily at 15:00

Private Cycling Tour of Bratislava
The city from the saddle, on the flat riverside paths along the Danube — a different view of the castle, the bridges and the far bank, at a pace that covers far more ground than a walk.

Grand City Tour with Devín Castle
The Grand City Tour plus Devín — the ruined fortress where the Morava meets the Danube, a Great Moravian stronghold that spent forty years sealed inside the Iron Curtain border zone.
5 hours · Car and on foot · Castle entrance available

Devín Castle & the Iron Curtain
A half day on the border itself: the castle rock above the confluence, and the story of the fortified frontier that ran along it until 1989, told where it actually stood.

Small Carpathian Wine Tour
One of Slovakia’s wine regions, half an hour from the city: Červený Kameň castle above Častá with some of the largest cellars in Central Europe, the wine and pottery town of Modra, Pezinok, and a cellar tasting in old Svätý Jur.

Private Wine Tasting of Organic Wines
An evening at a family winery in Svätý Jur that makes organic wine without added chemicals — five local wines with cheese, bacon and salami, in the company of the people who made them. Half past five, daily.

Small Carpathian Wine Route, Audio-Guided

Good to know
Guides, vehicles, party size and how a private tour is quoted
Guides, vehicles and party size
Which languages are your guides available in?
English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Russian. The language is chosen when you book, and it applies to the guide for the whole tour. Other languages are subject to availability.
Is there a minimum number of passengers?
No. A private tour runs for one traveller as readily as for ten. Rates are per person and depend on how many people travel together, so a larger party pays less each.
What vehicle is used?
An air-conditioned car or van with an English-speaking driver, sized to the party. A limousine — Mercedes S-Class or similar — can be arranged on request.
Where do the clients meet the guide?
At the reception of their own hotel if it is centrally located. If it is not, the meeting point is a named spot in the centre, confirmed with the booking.
Can you handle a coach group rather than a private party?
Yes, but from a different catalogue — see our group tour suggestions in Bratislava, which are built for 14 to 49 seats. Corporate, incentive and VIP programmes are planned separately under our MICE and incentive services.
Booking and conditions
What is included and what is extra?
A licensed guide, and an air-conditioned vehicle where the tour uses one. Entrance fees are not included unless they are named in the tour itself. Tastings and meals are listed against the tours that contain them.
How far ahead do we have to book?
Booking deadlines are shown with each tour and are usually 12 to 16 hours before the service. Availability is on request, and black-out dates are stated against the tours that have them.
What are the cancellation terms?
More than 72 hours before the service, cancellation is free of charge. Less than 72 hours before, or a no-show, is charged in full. A few products — the cycling tour among them — carry their own terms, which are stated with the offer.
Can these be combined with transfers and hotels?
Yes, on the same contract and the same invoice. Airport transfers, ticketing and ground handling sit with our sightseeing, transfers and ticketing services, and a programme built from scratch is a tailor-made trip.
