Our story
Three decades building the ground network you sell
1993 — founded in Žilina
Slovak travel pioneer Igor Staník opens the first office in Žilina, in northern Slovakia, as Fatran Travel Agency — handling incoming groups when few in the region did.
2004 — Bratislava HQ & a new name
A second office opens in Bratislava and the company is renamed e-travel, widening the operation from Slovakia to the Danube triangle of Bratislava, Vienna and Budapest.
Today — three countries, one family firm
Family-run across every division — incoming tour operator, DMC, Spa & Treatment and Bratislava City Tours. Bratislava HQ runs the west plus Vienna and Budapest; the Varín/Žilina desk runs the north and the spa resorts. 150+ contracted hotels, one accountable team.

Igor
Founder · strategy and quotations
Igor has been passionate about travel and foreign countries since childhood, even though travelling abroad was difficult during the communist era. Shortly after the fall of communism and the establishment of independent Slovakia, he founded an incoming travel agency that eventually grew into E-TRAVEL.SK, a DMC and incoming tour operator.
Beyond his work, Igor enjoys gardening, exploring the history of 20th-century Slovakia, basketball and football. He is also a proud grandfather to little Rebecca.
At E-TRAVEL.SK, Igor is responsible for strategic planning and preparing quotations for both regular and tailor-made programmes.
Katarina
MICE Specialist
Katarina grew up in the travel business and has a natural understanding of what it takes to create successful travel experiences. She speaks English, French and Spanish fluently, helping her build strong relationships with international partners and clients.
Known for her entrepreneurial drive, customer-focused approach and excellent problem-solving skills, Katarina combines a practical business mindset with a genuine passion for people and travel. She enjoys finding solutions, tailoring programmes to clients’ needs and making sure every detail is taken care of.
A passionate traveller with a particular interest in Latin America, Katarina is also a dedicated sports enthusiast. She enjoys running and won the IMEX Run in 2024. In winter, she swaps her running shoes for ski touring adventures in the mountains.
Above all, she is a proud mother of little Rebecca.
Andrej
VIP guide
Andrej started working at E-TRAVEL.SK in 2014. He holds a Doctor of Laws degree and is passionate about history. As a tour guide, he knows Slovakia inside out, from Devín Castle to Košice.
He is a very friendly person, and customers appreciate his attention to detail and customer-oriented approach.
He speaks English, Spanish, Russian and German fluently.
A passionate sportsman, Andrej runs half-marathons and plays tennis. In winter, he devotes his time to ski touring and cross-country skiing. He also loves trekking with his wonderful wife, Mikaela.
Gabriela
Co-founder · Head of Accounting
Gabriela is the co-founder of E-TRAVEL.SK, which she established together with her husband, Igor. As Head of Accounting, she keeps the company’s finances in order, bringing exceptional attention to detail, efficiency and a sharp eye for numbers to everything she does.
Known for her speed, reliability and meticulous approach, Gabriela is one of the people behind the smooth running of the business. Coming from a wine-growing region, she is also E-TRAVEL.SK’s in-house wine expert, always ready to share her knowledge of local wines and traditions.
Outside work, Gabriela enjoys long walks in nature and travelling around Europe. These days, however, her favourite way to spend her free time is with her beloved grandchild.
