The tour

What this tour is

Vienna and Bratislava are the two closest capital cities in Europe, an hour apart on the motorway. Both were crowning cities — the Austrian emperors in Vienna, the Hungarian kings in Bratislava — and seeing the pair in one trip makes a point that neither makes alone.

The day is a Grand City Tour of Vienna: an hour by car along the Ringstrasse, which puts most of the great nineteenth-century set pieces in front of the clients in sequence, then two hours on foot through the Hofburg, Kärntnerstrasse and St Stephen’s Cathedral. After that they have four hours to themselves, which is enough for Schönbrunn if they want it.

A driver, a licensed guide in Vienna and an air-conditioned vehicle are included; entrance fees and meals are not. The reverse trip, collecting clients in Vienna for a day in Bratislava, is a separate tour.
