The tour

What this tour is

Budapest is two and a half hours from Bratislava on the motorway, and the two cities share more history than most clients realise: Hungarian kings and queens were crowned in both, and for over two centuries the Hungarian Parliament sat in Bratislava because Buda was under Ottoman rule.

The day is a Grand City Tour of Budapest — an hour by car, two hours on foot. The Buda side first: the castle district, the Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion, with the view across the river. Then the Pest side by car along Andrássy Avenue past the Opera House and the House of Terror, along the Parliament, and a short walk around Heroes’ Square and the City Park.

Two hours of free time follow, which is enough to go inside the Parliament if it has been booked. A driver, a licensed guide in Budapest and an air-conditioned vehicle are included. Clients already in Budapest can do the reverse as a day trip to Bratislava.
