Košice Airport (KSC)
Slovakia's second airport, 6 km south of Košice: one terminal, hub links to Vienna, Warsaw, Prague and Zurich — the direct way into eastern Slovakia.
The airport
Košice Airport in brief
Košice International Airport is Slovakia’s second-largest airport, located in the Barca district around 6 km from St. Elisabeth Cathedral and approximately 10 km by road from the city centre.
The airport has one terminal, with arrivals and departures under one roof, making it straightforward to handle groups. Its network includes regular connections to major Central European hubs such as Vienna, Warsaw and Prague, as well as selected direct European and low-cost routes. Seasonal charter flights also connect Košice with popular Mediterranean destinations.
There are no long-haul flights from Košice, so intercontinental groups normally connect through Vienna, Warsaw or Zurich.
For tour operators and DMCs, Košice Airport is the natural gateway to Eastern Slovakia, with the city centre only a short transfer away and easy access to destinations such as the Spiš region, the High Tatras, Bardejov and the Tokaj wine region.
Group handling
Handling a group at KSC
This is an easy airport for groups: one compact terminal, arrivals at ground level, and car parks and pay stations directly on the forecourt. There is no second terminal to find — our name-board representative meets the group in the single arrivals hall, while the coach loads directly outside. The airport operates around the clock, so early charters and late hub arrivals can be handled smoothly.
Košice city centre and St. Elisabeth Cathedral are around 15 minutes away — approximately 10 km by road. The D1 motorway runs north-west via Prešov towards Poprad, around 110 km from Košice. The High Tatras resorts are approximately 90 minutes away via the Spiš region, while Levoča, Spiš Castle and Bardejov are all within a comfortable day-trip radius.
Choose KSC when the itinerary focuses on Eastern Slovakia — Košice, the Spiš UNESCO region or the High Tatras. For origins not served directly from Košice, Vienna, Warsaw, Prague or Zurich can provide convenient hub connections, while Budapest is a practical alternative for long-haul arrivals. Kraków is another strong option for programmes combining Southern Poland with the High Tatras.
Landing at KSC and departing from Vienna, Bratislava or Budapest — or the reverse — works particularly well for one-way east–west programmes, avoiding an unnecessary return coach journey.
We meet every group with a name board at arrivals and arrange coaches, private transfers and the full programme from the terminal, all quoted at net rates.
