The tour

What this tour is

The three-hour Grand City Tour with the afternoon extended to Devín. The city half is unchanged: the panorama drive past the Presidential Palace and the Palisády villas, the photo stop at Bratislava Castle, Slavín, and then the old town on foot.

Devín is twenty minutes downstream and worth the drive. The castle stands on a rock at the confluence of the Morava and the Danube, on the border of Slovakia, Austria and what is now the Czech Republic. It was a Great Moravian stronghold in the ninth century, blown up by Napoleon’s army in 1809, and then spent forty years inside the Iron Curtain border zone, closed to everyone.

Hotel pick-up and drop-off, a licensed guide and an air-conditioned vehicle are included; the castle entrance is quoted separately. If the clients want Devín and the border story without the full city tour, the three-hour half-day version goes straight there. The same combination runs for individual travellers under our retail brand as the private Bratislava city tour with Devín Castle.
