Dobsinska Ice Cave
As in the Demanovska Ice Cave the ice melted down, the Dobsinska Ice Cave is the only cave with icy covering all the year. You will park your car at parking place close to the Ice Cave, which cost for whole day about 5 EUR/ sedan car. From the park place you have to walk thru forest with well maintained path directly to the Ice Cave. The route takes about 20 – 25 min and it has ascent approximately 90 – 100 m. The entry to Dobsinska Ice Cave last about 30 minutes and it is welcomed refreshment mainly in summer heats. Dobsinska Ice Cave is famous in Slovakia thanks to many fairy tales filmed here and as a place of summer skating and place of preparation of Slovakian figure skaters in the first half of last century, among them the famous was Karol Divin, the world champion medallist as well as Olympic medallist.
Palcamska Masa Dam
During summer we recommend include to your itinerary as part of day trip from High Tatras to Telgart also a swim, or sunbathing in a beautiful landscape of the villages Mlynky & Dedinky, where is located a Palcmanska Masa damp with very clear and fresh water suitable for swimming and water sport. Palcmanska Masa is the biggest dam of National Park Slovakian Paradise and it is built on a river Hnilec.
You can rent a paddleboard or water bicycles there.
Ground Squirrel Meadow & Giant Park
It is located close to a small mountain village Muran. Ground Squirrel Meadow offers a unique opportunity to see this fading chipmunks. This experience is very popular not only among the kids as well as among the adults. Opposite to chipmunk meadow is located a Giant Park with wooden giant sculptures and contact ZOO of small animals. We recommend to visit this park with your kids.
Chmarossky Viadukt & Harry Potter Car
Close to a small village Telgart is located an unique train brick bridge Chamrossky Viadukt. It was built in 30th years of last century, consisting with 9 arcs. The length of the bridge is 113,6 m and it is 18 m heigh.
Near the bridge is located a ski center Telgart with apartment houses. The highlights of the center in summer it is a famous car from Harry Potter and stylish Depo Cafeteria made from old train wagon.
Mineral Spring Stavica
The last stop could be in a mineral spring Stavica located close the town Tisovec. You can refuel you water supplies by a high quality mineral water. Nowadays Slovakia does not have the sources of gold or oil. But our natural heritage is vast reservoirs of mineral and thermal water. At Stavica mineral spring your day trip from High Tatras to Telgart will get a right balance.
Hike to Kralova Hola
Hike Kralova Hola is demanding hike with ascent more than 1100 m from Telgart to majestic peak of Low Tatras – Kralova Hola (1948 m). You can get to Kralova Hola also by bike, or more easily by e-bike and feast your eyes with beautiful view on High Tatras, Low Tatras mountain range, Slovakian Paradise and Muranska Planina National Parks.
