Bratislava and Vienna are the two closest capital cities in Europe, barely an hour apart by road. For a group based in Vienna, that makes a second country a comfortable day trip rather than an expedition — and it is the single easiest way to add a second capital to a Vienna programme.
The day is built around the three-hour Grand City Tour with a local guide, which covers both the panoramic half and the old town on foot, and leaves two hours of free time before the drive back.

Meeting in Vienna
The driver meets the group at your hotel in Vienna for the drive to Bratislava.
The panoramic drive
The guide joins the group in Bratislava. The first half of the Grand City Tour is by coach: the Blue Church, the Presidential Palace, the Palisády district, the Slavín monument and Bratislava Castle.
The old town on foot
From the castle the tour descends into the historic centre: St Martin’s Cathedral, St Michael’s Gate, the opera house, the Primate’s Palace, the Main Square and the statues.
Lunch and free time
A lunch break, then two hours of free time in the city centre.
Back to Vienna
The group meets the driver and returns to the hotel in Vienna.
