The excursion
What this day is
The Váh is the longest river in Slovakia, and the three towns on this excursion sit along the stretch of it closest to Bratislava. The day combines history, a castle at Trenčín and the spa town of Piešťany, which makes it the easiest full-day trip to sell to a mixed group.
Trenčín is European Capital of Culture 2026, so the town will be busier and better programmed through that year than it has ever been. Piešťany is the best-known spa town in the country, and the walk there is through the parkland of Spa Island rather than around monuments.
