Itinerary

Arrival in Bratislava
Land at Vienna Airport, collect the car and drive to Bratislava — around an hour. Check in at the apartment; the evening is free. One night in Bratislava.

Bratislava to the Tatras
Head north. Trenčín and Bojnice both sit close to the route and make a good half-way stop — Trenčín Castle stands directly on the northbound road. Around 3.5 to 4 hours’ driving in total, then check in at the apartment resort in Liptov, the first of five nights.

Open day — the High Tatras
Days 3 to 6 are entirely unplanned. What follows are suggestions, to take in any order or not at all.

Open day — Spiš and the wooden churches

Drive south and spend the final night in the capital, with time in the Old Town before dinner.
