How it works

Fourteen ready days out of one city

Bratislava sits an hour from Vienna and two and a half from Budapest, which makes it an unusually efficient base for a group. Everything in this catalogue starts and ends there: a half-day on foot in the old town, a full day among the castles and wine towns of western Slovakia, or a day across the border in one of the two neighbouring capitals.

Each excursion below is guided and operated by us as the local incoming operator. The guide and the coach are quoted per group, and entrance fees, tastings and meals are quoted per person, so you can set the day at the level your clients expect rather than buying a fixed package. Any of the fourteen can be shortened, reordered or joined to another one, and we re-quote it.

Several of these routes also run every day for individual travellers under our own retail brand, Bratislava City Tours — the Bratislava walking tour and the grand city tour among them. Same company, same guides, which is a straightforward way to see a route running before you put it in front of your clients.

Rates are net for the trade and are not published here. Tell us the dates, the group size and the guide language and we come back with a quotation, normally within one business day.

Castles of Slovakia: Bojnice & Trenčín

Slovakia has more than 180 castles and 300 manor houses. This day takes the two most photographed of them. Bojnice was rebuilt between 1888 and 1909 by Count Ján Pálffy in the manner of the Loire châteaux, and is the castle every Slovak child grows up seeing — a reliable highlight for a mixed group.

After lunch the day continues to Trenčín, one of the oldest towns in the country, below the rock that carries the Roman inscription left by the army of Marcus Aurelius in AD 179 — the oldest written record in Slovakia. The walk through the old town finishes the afternoon before the return to Bratislava.

Good to know

Guides, group sizes and how the day is quoted

Guides, groups and coaches

Which languages are your guides available in?

English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Russian. The language is chosen when you book the excursion, and the same choice applies to the tour assistants who meet your clients at Vienna or Bratislava airport.

How many guides does a group need?

One guide covers up to 39 clients. Above that a second guide is obligatory, and we quote it as part of the day rather than leaving it to be discovered on site.

What size coach can you provide?

From 14 seats up to 49. The coach is held for the maximum duration shown against each excursion, so a day that runs long does not turn into a surprise.

Are these excursions suitable for corporate groups and VIPs?

This catalogue is built for leisure groups. Corporate, incentive and VIP work is planned and quoted separately — see our MICE and incentive services.

Planning the day

What is included in an excursion and what is extra?

The guide and the coach are charged per group. Entrance fees, tastings and meals are charged per person and are not included unless you add them — so you can build the day at the level your clients expect.

Can the excursions be combined or shortened?

Yes. Any of the fourteen can be cut down, run in a different order or joined to another one, and we re-quote it. If none of them is quite right we build the day from scratch — see tailor-made programmes.

Can you add hotels, transfers and meals around the excursion?

Yes. Accommodation, transport and catering can be added to any excursion and handled on the same contract. The full list is on our ground services page.

How do I get rates for these excursions?

Rates are net for the trade and are not published on this page. Send us the dates, the group size and the guide language and we come back with a quotation, normally within one business day. Availability is confirmed on request.

Can you handle individuals and very small parties as well?

Yes, through our own retail brand Bratislava City Tours, which runs scheduled departures for individual travellers — among them the Bratislava walking tour and the Small Carpathian wine tour. Same company, same guides.

Which season does this catalogue cover?

The current catalogue runs through the 2027 season, from January to December. Excursions that depend on a cable car or a castle opening follow that attraction’s own season, and we flag it when you ask for dates.

Plan the day

Tell us the dates, the group size and the language

Send a single excursion or a whole week of them. We come back with net B2B rates for the guide, the coach, the entrances and anything you want added around them.

Accommodation, transfers and catering can go on the same contract, so a group that lands at Vienna airport and leaves from Bratislava is handled by one local operator throughout.
